LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Saeed Ullah Mughal on Wednesday released the accused of murder case when two witnesses changed their statements against the accused namely Abdul Shakeel. According to details, Abdul Shakeel had allegedly killed a child Hussnain, resident of Sirdol Singh, Mustafa Abad over a petty issue. The heirs of Hussnain had alleged in their statement that two children namely Adil and Hussnain were playing in the street when the accused of the same locality started giving them a serious thrash on a petty matter, after which Hussnain expired, the heirs alleged. The heirs had appealed before the court for awarding punishment to the accused who had allegedly brutally killed the child Hussnain. But the witnesses of the case changed their statements before the court against Abdul Shakeel. The court on Wednesday acquitted Shakeel on basis of unavailability of strong evidence against the accused. Meanwhile, additional District and Sessions Judge Ajmal Hussain on Wednesday announced nine-month jail term along with a fine of Rs 5,000 for a drug pusher. According to details, Mughalpura Police had arrested Imran Ali and recovered 110 grams of hashish from his possessio1n. On Tuesday, the court awarded him punishment along with the fine. As per the court orders, the convict would undergo 15-day confinement further in case of non-payment. Moreover, an Accountability Court-5 of Mian Subha Sadiq Wattoo on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of a reference filed by NAB Punjab against ex-MPA Sohail Zia Butt till January 31st and Court No-2 also adjourned the hearing of the case filed against the MPA till Jan 31. According to details, the counsel of Butt asked the court through an application that his client Sohail Zia should be trialed in one court instead of two different courts. On which the court asked the lawyer to present the legal points why Sohail Zia Butt should be trialed in one court instead of the two courts.
