The Pakistan Railways (PR) employees here on Thursday protested against the government's privatization plan. They also threatened to suspend all trains if the plan was not aborted. According to details, a large rally of the PR workers protested in front of the Divisional Superintendent (DS) office. President of Railway Prem Union and ex MNA Hafiz Salman Butt lead the protest rally. The protesting employees repeatedly chanted passionate slogans against PR authorities and the government; they torched tires and blocked a road near the DS office. Hafiz Salman Butt said while addressing the protest rally that he would safeguard the rights of all PR workers and would never accepted any downsizing. PR spokesman Mohsin Yousuf said that the employees reserve the right to protest. But at the moment, no downsizing is being done, he said.
