LAHORE – Former PML-Q MPA Haji Imdad Hussain joined the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) at a public meeting in Daroghewala on Saturday.
PPP Central Punjab President Manzoor Wattoo also announced awarding party ticket to Imdad for PP-145. Senator Ch Aitzaz Ahsan, Munir Ahmad Khan and others were present
Speaking on the occasion, Wattoo criticised the PML-N and the Sharif brothers, saying that the party would face defeat by the PPP in the upcoming elections. “Shahbaz Sharif does not enjoy respect among MPAs over his attitude,” he said, adding that he knew how “to deal with the Sharifs and defeat their party”. He said the PPP honour the agreement reached with Minhajuil Quran chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and the two parties will move ahead jointly.
On the new provinces in Punjab, Wattoo said the PPP had solved this problem by deciding one province under the nomenclature of Bahawalpur Janoobi Punjab. Aitzaz Ahsan said the PPP will sweep the coming elections.
Imdad said the PPP holds the key to solution to problems confronting the people and the country and its policy of reconciliation had strengthened democracy and the credit goes to President Asif Ali Zardari that current assemblies are completing their constitutional term.
