KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain, while denouncing the tragic incident of Hangu that claimed lives of six children, on Sunday reiterated his demand for a decisive action against terrorists.
In a statement issued here, Hussain expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over the unfortunate incident, and said terrorists had proved they were open enemy of the humanity. He said targeting children through a toy bomb was a “cowardly act”.
MQM chief reiterated his demand the federal government and armed forces handled country’s internal situation through an expeditious anti-terrorism strategy. He urged the federal and provincial governments to take immediate action against terrorists involved in the unfortunate incident.
Earlier, MQM chief, while addressing a gathering at Jinnah Ground in Azizabad area in connection with Mehfil-e-Zikr-e-Mustafa (PBUH), said some people wanted to enforce their own version of Sharia and impose their beliefs on others by holding them on gunpoint, whereas the holy Prophet (PBUH) had not preached the religion on the strength of the sword.
On the occasion, Hussain prayed may Allah pull the country out of difficult circumstances and protect its borders. He also prayed may Allah give strength to the people of Pakistan to fight terrorists who were spilling blood of the innocent by attacking mosques, imambargahs, shrines and other worship places.
He particularly thanked religious scholars, clerics, naatkhawans, qawwals, and others who took part in the programme and prayed for them.
