ISLAMABAD - Rawalpindi Journalists XI thrashed Islamabad Media XI by 9 wickets in a friendly T/20 cricket match played here at Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Rawalpindi Journalists XI skipper Khawar Nawaz Raja won the toss and opted to field first. Helped by sensational fast bowling by Sammer Abbas, Islamabad Media XI were bundled out for 114 runs in 19 overs. Sammer claimed 2 wickets for 8 runs. Hamid remained unbeaten on 41. Tahir and Bilal also shred 2 wickets each while Shakir Abbasi and Raja Imran also chipped in with a wicket apiece. Rawalpindi achieved the target in only 10.4 overs. Faraz Aleem scored unbeaten 60 while Bilal also remained unbeaten on 37. Rawalpindi Islamabad Photo Journalists Association president Sajjad Haider was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Zahid Awan, Nisar Khan, manager Pindi Cricket Stadium along with other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
