LAHORE - Punjab Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Gillani shed light on the role of women in national development.

Addressing as the chief guest of the 14th convocation at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), the minister greeted grads. A total of 3,964 students who passed BS, BEd, BFA, BCom, BBA, BPA, BE, Pharm D, MA, MSc, MS/ MPhil and PhD are receiving their degrees, rolls of honour and gold medals in two-day convocation. PHEC Chairman Dr Nizamuddin, ex-VCs, faculty and parent also attended the event.  The minister said He said their success was the result of their hard work for which credit also goes to teachers and parents. He listed his government’s feats in education development.

Examinations Controller of Prof Dr Tahira Aziz Mughal said that as per the instruction of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Uzma Qureshi, opening day of the convocation was allocated for the students belonging to the faculties of natural sciences, management/administrative sciences, engineering and technology and pharmacy while the second day is reserved for the students of faculty of humanities and social sciences, education, languages and culture, institute of visual arts and design. Dr Uzama shed light on her university performance.

FJMU results

Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) on Friday announced result of third Professional MBBS annual examination. Mahrukh Afzal and Natasha Irfan got first position by securing 768 marks. Asma Wahid, Maaza Javed and Maryam Saleem Raza got second position by securing 761 marks and Ayesha Zafar got third position by securing 751 marks.

Punjab University has awarded five PhD degrees to the scholars in which Fatima Batool D/o Ashiq Hussain in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of her thesis entitled “Genetic Transformation of Zinc Finger (GAZNF) Gene in Local Non-BT Cotton and its Inheritance in T1 progeny”, Naila Shahid D/o Shahid Hussain in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of her thesis entitled “Expression of F Protein Gene in Maize for Production of Edible Vaccine Against Newcastle Disease Virus”, Muhammad Arshad S/o Muhammad Anwar in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “A Comparison of the Understanding of Sunan Abu Daud and Sunan Tirmidhi in the Rules of Zakat”, Amir Hayat S/o Liaqat Hayat in the subject of Islamic Studies after approval of his thesis entitled “Personal management in Islamic Frame Work” and Beenish Aftab D/o S. Aftab Qamar in the subject of Molecular Biology after approval of her thesis entitled “Search of Cotton Leaf Curl Virus Tolerant Gene (S) by Differential Display”.
