SIALKOT - The police remained unable to arrest the accused who threw acid on a 14-year-old child whose condition was stated to be still critical at Govt Allama Iqbal Teaching Hospital.

Local police said that two accused Khalid and Iqbal had thrown acid on the face and neck of Ali Ahmed after a minor domestic dispute in village Jaithikey, Sambrial tehsil two days ago. Sambrial police had registered a case against the accused on the report of Muneer Ahmed, the father of the victim.

Meanwhile, the District Council has announced to hold an art exhibition for creating awareness of the people to save the environment from pollution.

Chairperson Hina Arshad said that the fine art students of all the private and government colleges will participate in the two-day art exhibition with new ideas to protect the environment and people from pollution. The exhibition will be held in the last week of Feb 2018. She said that the District Council would ensure plantation of 0.2m trees in Sialkot district during the coming treeplantation campaign.

She added that the Council had allocated special funds of Rs19.3 million for the promotion of youth talent and  healthy activities in Sialkot under the supervision of Sialkot District Council.
