KARACHI - Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has directed secretaries of local government and public health engineering to look into the ongoing schemes of the Karachi Water And Sewerage Board and Wapda and submit reports regarding them including S-III project by 29 January.

He directed the authorities to expedite work on ongoing water and sewerage schemes and complete them by the end of the fiscal year.

Presiding over a meeting pertaining to water supply and drainage issues here, Memon asked his subordinates to look into the pending schemes and approach departments. The chief secretary directed that the ground realities must be covered, asking the irrigation secretary Jamal Mustufa Syed who was also the chairman taskforce to take all stakeholders including KWSB and WASA on board for resolving these issues without any further delay. Those who attended the meeting included eminent water technologist Ahsan siddiqui and social leader Shahab Usto.
