Naqeebullah case: SC gives three days to police to arrest Rao Anwar

The hearing of Naqeebullah case has started at Supreme Court Karachi Registry today. The Chief Justice of Pakistan took suo moto notice of the case last week. 

The Inspector General Sindh Police, Additional IG and DIG police have reached the court. Furthermore, father of Naqeebullah Mehsood also reached the court. 

The apex court has also summoned Ex-SSP Malir Rao Anwar but he has not reached yet to the registry. 

Three-member bench consists of Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Justice Faisal Arab is headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar. 

As the hearing resumed, the court asked IG Sindh about Rao Anwar and reason of his absence. Upon this IG A.D. Khawaja told the court that Rao Anwar is still at large. 

"We have conducted multiple raids for his arrest," he said. 

The apex court further asked the official whether Rao Anwar is in the country or not. "Have you checked the flights which flew abroad in last 15 days," the bench asked. 

The court ordered officials to present list of owners of chartered plans. 

The Waziristan native was shot dead in extrajudicial killing by Rao Anwar earlier this month.
