LAHORE - Faisalabad's Punjab Medical College (PMC) caused another sensational result when they overpowered Pakistan International Airlines in the Pakistan Premier Soccer League 2008 Saturday at Korangi Baloch Stadium. It was second away win for PMC who earlier frustrated Afghan FC with 2-1 win. PMC bagged full six points from their two matches. Meanwhile, KESC and HBL secured their fourth points when they played scoreless draw at Peoples Stadium. A large audience turned up to watch the match that remained barren as both the teams knew the weaker and stronger elements of each other. Afghan FC recorded their first win by edging out debutant PEL 1-0 infront of their home crowd. The first half of the absorbing PIA-PMC match saw purposeful moves from both sides. Under fine leadership of playmaker Haroon Yusuf, PMC created several chances but the passes and assists of former Pakistani skipper were wasted by PMC's front-runners. PIA came close twice through skipper Nasr Ullah khan but he too showed slackness with finishing touch. It was 0-0 at interval with both keepers Bilal Rafiq (PIA) and Muzammal Yousaf (PMC) played their part with fine anticipation. PMC started the second session in more positive mood and Bilal was finally beaten when Haroon Yousof created the opening for PMC in airline's defence and Faisalabad-born winger Tanveer ul Hasnain scooped the ball past helpless keeper. PIA despite all out attack failed to reduce the 55th minute goal and suffered their second straight defeat. They also lost to KPT 0-1.
