Powers given to 'corrupt politicians deliberately: Imran

ISLAMABAD - Parliamentary Committee on Judges Appointments constituted under the 18th Amendment was a curb on the independence of judiciary in Pakistan, said Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Imran said while addressing the Insaf Lawyers Wing here in the district courts. He said appointments of the judges through parliamentary committee couldnt be termed fair and transparent as the head of the committee himself is chief of a land mafia. How someone can expect appointments of honest judges from such 'corrupt politicians. He said due to deliberate conspiracy hatched through the 18th Amendment, the authority to appointment judges was given to the corrupt politicians.
Chief Justice of Pakistan was the only person who can save this country. The corrupt rulers were not implementing the decisions of the SC that was creating unrest among the people.
The government intentionally has created confrontation with the SC. Now it was up to the people of Pakistan to get rid of corrupt politicians through ballot, he added.
Commenting about the role of Mian Nawaz Sharif, he said that PML-N chief deceived the PTI and other political parties united under APDM. Nawaz Sharif first boycotted the elections and later participated in the elections. He said both Nawz Sharif and Zardari were on the same page and nation couldnt expect any change from them.
Imran said in Pakistan every year 0.6 million children die of contaminated water. On the other side the President of Pakistan spends Rs. 90 million in his recent 9-day visit to United Kingdom. Pakistani nation has to get rid from such politicians. How a person can be loyal to country when all his assets are in the foreign countries, he maintained. He declared drone attacks as sheer violation of severity of the state. And announced that PTI will stage protest every week against the policies of the sitting govt.
