MULTAN-Four persons including three children and a woman were crushed to death by a truck near Chowk Nag Shah in a road accident here on Tuesday.

The Rescue 1122 sources said that the ill-fated family was going on a motorbike when a speeding car hit their bike. Resultantly, they fell on the ground and in the meanwhile a truck coming from behind crushed them to death. All of them died on the spot. The bodies were being shifted to Nishtar Hospital and the identification was in process.

In another incident, a police constable was killed when his official gun went off and he received a bullet in his head near Qila Qasim Bagh. The deceased constable was identified as Ghulam Shabbir (Belt No 478) and he was currently posted at Gulgasht police station. Police sources said that he was going on his motorbike when his official gun accidently went off. He died at the spot. The body of the deceased constable was shifted to Nishtar Hospital for autopsy while police were investigating the incident.



SIALKOT (Staff Reporter): The five-day training of the male and female heads of 38 government colleges of Sialkot and Narowal districts continued at Govt College Women University (GCWU) for the second day on Tuesday.

GCWU Vice Chancellor Dr Farhat Saleemi presided over the training session being held under the supervision of Higher Education Commission (HEC).

On the occasion, VC Dr Farhat Saleemi and HEC senior officials urged the principals to utilise their full energies with full devotion, honesty, dedication, enthusiasm and complete peace of mind to teach the students, enabling them to serve the nation in a better way.
