The water shortage issue in the capital is not a new phenomenon. The residents have been facing this problem for many years now; however, the civic body has not been able to come up with any long-term plan to resolve it. We were forced to use water tankers to meet our needs .Getting a water tanker is an irksome process itself. Some fear that water tankers contain contaminated water. These water tankers are owned by private contractors and there is a lot of leeway for potential fraud. Moreover, being tax payers, we believe that to be provided with these facilities is our right. The residents of G-9/4 have been facing severe water shortage in summers since the last many years and despite tall claims by the authorities and successive governments, no new dam has been constructed yet. The residents urge the concerned authorities to take notice of the situation and to take action.
