Coronavirus door to door vaccination campaign begins

LAHORE - Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Lahore Commissioner Captain (retd) Usman Younis inaugurated the door-to-door vaccination campaign in Punjab at Shah Jamal EPI Center here on Monday.

Lahore Deputy Commissioner Mudassar Riaz Malik and other officials were present on the occasion.

Campaign’s objective is to vaccinate maximum people, says Dr Yasmin

The Health Minister said: “The purpose of door-to-door campaign is to vaccinate maximum number of people against coronavirus. On directions from Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, we are vaccinating more and more people. So far, we have vaccinated over 12 million people as Punjab has vaccinated highest number in the country. Lahorites must get themselves vaccinated to beat the pandemic, and our teams are ready to vaccinate people. By 14th of August, we will vaccinate 40pc population of Punjab. Five mega cities including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala are in spotlight in current campaign. Awareness campaign is being run in Punjab on Covid-19 vaccine. There is 350-bed hospital at Expo Center.” She added that there was an adequate stock of vaccine available and situation was being reviewed on a daily basis. “In Punjab,” she said, “over 350,000 people are being vaccinated daily.”
