Crying with victims, siding with oppressors

Of late, Senator Raza Rabbani has been warning of a revolution if the political leadership does not reform itself. But he has also been defending PPP governments abuse of state corporations. That is unacceptable. Pakistan Steel Mills has been systematically subjected to sly pilferage as well as open plunder by cronies of this regime, as is the case with PIA, PEPCO, SSGC, NHA et al. Riaz Laljee, Moin Aftab and others, with blessings of those in the executive branch of government have continued to evade prosecution for the daylight robberies they have done in Pakistan Steel Mills. They have caused it to bleed over Rs 22 billion in very little time. Another basket case is the PIA, countrys national flag-carrier in the skies. Senator Rabbani, should he still feel the urge to defend his partys nominee to head the PIA just needs to visit the following web link and he would know why their favoured appointee was dismissed from the post of Director Airport Services during the Musharraf era; http://www.glgroup.com/News/PIAs-affairs-are-a-microcosm-of-governance-in-Pakistan.-25007.html. The good Senator also needs to ask himself why his leadership does not appoint any of these shady characters to head their own industrial empires? The Senator is right in saying that man in the street is full of molten rage ready to explode but he is sitting with those that are at least partly responsible. The common man has lost all faith in the countrys leadership, both civil and khaki. -ABRAR HUSSAIN, Faisalabad, June 21.
