NOORPUR THAL - People have expressed their concern and apprehensions over the inordinate delay in the construction of new sewerage system here in the city and have asked the government to execute the project that has been laying pending since long. Talking to The Nation, the people expressed that the mega project for the city was started four years ago but to-date nothing came out of it and had been laying pending so far. They pointed out that they had been confronted great difficulties due to the delay in the completion of the project. They argued that the local parliamentarians had made various promises with people during the elections, but no promise could be fulfilled so far. They averred that several bazaars, streets and roads had been laying dug up in the entire city since long for laying the sewage pipeline due to which the city present a devastating look and causing severe problems for the citizens. They appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister to take notice of the delay in the execution of this mega project and order it early completion. Journalists mother laid to rest: The mother of the member Press Club, Muhammad Hussain Qadri died after a protracted illness here the other day. People from all walks of life participated in her funeral. She was laid to rest at a local graveyard. Journalists Summer Sultan, Ghulam Shabbir, Raja Noor Ilahi Atif, Malik Ghulam Gilani, Muhammad Mumtaz, Mehr Muhammad Tufail, Muhammad Amin, Zarar Ahmad Akhtar, Deputy District Officer (Health) Dr Mian Muhammad Tahir, Headmaster Tufail Ahmad Bhatti and Assistant Education Officer Malik Muhammad Sher have expressed their grief over the sad demise.
