At least 11 persons including a woman were killed and 10 others injured in separate incidents of violence, enmity and mishaps over the past 24 hours According to detail, in SHEIKHUPURA the decomposed body of a 22-year-old shopkeeper, who went missing ago two days, was found in Meraj Pura locality of the city. According to police report that deceased identified as Ahsan Ali, who ran a shop, was on the way back home after closing shop on Monday evening but did not reach home. His family members made hectic efforts to search him out but to no avail. On Wednesday his body was found from a deserted place. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained yet. Further investigation is underway by the police. In another incident an 18-year-old youth was axed to death by his two neighbours on suspicion of illicit relations in village Roran Wali in the remit of Farooqabad Saddr Police here on Wednesday. According to reports, Ilyas and his two sons attacked Faizan with axes and killed him. The accused suspected that the deceased had developed illicit relation with Ilyas’s daughter. The police are looking into the matter. While the Factory Area Police recovered the dead body of 35-year-old man from Upper Chenab Canal near Khanpur. Identity of the accused could not be ascertained yet. In HAFIZABAD, a 45-year-old villager namely Mazhar Hussain of Atla Mirwan, along with his bike fell down in Jhang Branch Canal near Sukheke on Wednesday and drowned. The deceased was on way to Sukheke when his bike swerved off the canal bank as a result of which he and the bike fell down in the canal. His body has not yet been recovered despite frantic efforts by Rescue-1122 and private divers. Similarly Sardaran Bibi, aged mother of Waheed Yousaf, head constable traffic police of Bijli Mohallah Hafizabad was killed on-the-spot when she was knocked down by a an ambulance when she was crossing the road in Kamoke where she had gone to see her daughter. Her body was brought to Hafizabad and was laid to rest in the local graveyard. In CHAKWAL, a reckless driven speeding trailer collided head-on with a passenger van coming from opposite side near Qasba Dhab Morr of Chakwal.As a result two persons were killed on the spot while seven others sustained wounds. The locals on self-help basis shifted the injured to DHQ Hospital. The Injured passengers said that reckless driving and speeding resulted in the accident.The police impounded both the vehicles and registered a case.In KASUR, a youth who came to Kasur to attend a village fair drowned in Sutlej River while bathing near village Thathi Bakhshiwala in the limits of Gandasingwala Police. Rescue 1122 recovered the body after the search of five hours. Rehmat Ali, 25, of Sahiwal came to village Thathi Bukhsiwala to attend the fair. While taking bath in the Sutlej, he drowned.In SIALKOT, two unidentified accused shot dead a factory worker Mujahid Hussain over some unknown reasons in Sialkot city’s congested Iqbal Town-Hajipura locality here. He belonged to Dera Ghazi Khan and had been living here in connection with his job. The Hajipura Police have registered a case.Meanwhile, Multan at least two persons including a pregnant woman were killed while five injured in two separate incidents of roof collapse here. The roofs collapsed in Mahmoodabad and Hafiz Jamal areas. According to details, the roof of an under construction house caved in in Mahmoodabad area and an eight month pregnant woman namely Shumaila and her two sons namely Manahil and Hamza got buried alive under the debris. The Rescue 1122 workers recovered the inmates but Shumaila and her son Manahil succumbed to their injuries at the spot while the condition of Hamza is stated to be precarious. Similarly, the roof of another house collapsed in Hafiz Jamal area and three persons got injured.
