Altaf thinks Ummah’s ‘Titanic’ is sinking



KARACHI - Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has warned the Muslim world that the Titanic of Muslim Ummah had started sinking.Talking to a joint meeting of MQM coordination committee in London and Pakistan here the other day, he said he was giving this example to the people of Pakistan as boastful claims made for the titanic were being made for Pakistan as well. Altaf said there was a similarity between the current situation in Pakistan and the Titanic ship. People on the “upper deck” are misleading the public by claiming that everything is fine.Speaking about the debacle in East Pakistan, he said that the Radio Pakistan in West Pakistan was broadcasting news that our armed forced were advancing on every front and that we are getting victory at every place. The fact of the matter was 93,000 soldiers had actually surrendered before the Indian Army.Altaf appealed to the people of Pakistan not to forget his statement as the country may go down in the history as a tragic story if the situation was not changed.Meanwhile Russian Council General deployed in Karachi Andrey Demidov and Russian Attaché Dimtry Bondarenko met MQM‘s Parliamentary leader in National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar and member of the Central Coordination Committee Senator Mustafa Kamal at Khursheed Begum Secretariat, Azizabad here on Tuesday.The meeting lasted for an hour in which the issues of serious deteriorating law and order situation in Pakistan especially in Karachi, dual educational system and terrorism.
