BERLIN - Germany striker Mario Gomez will begin pre-season training with European champions Bayern Munich on Wednesday with his agent denying reports that a transfer deal to Italy's Fiorentina has been done. "He has not agreed with any club and will train today, and in the next few days, in Munich, as normal," Gomez's agent Uli Ferber told German broadcaster Sport1. "Anything else is just pure speculation at the moment." Several media outlets have reported Gomez, 27, has agreed a four-year deal with Fiorentina in a contract reported to be around 20 million euros. New head coach Pep Guardiola takes his first training session on Wednesday night, with up to 25,000 fans expected, and the ex-Barcelona boss has said all players have the same chance to impress him ahead of the new season. –AFP
