LAHORE-  Corruption-tainted pace bowler Muhammad Asif was robbed of cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees at gunpoint on Wednesday. Asif told the police that four gunmen stopped him in the Defense when he was coming from the Allama Iqbal International Airport. The robbers held the right-arm pacer at gunpoint and snatched away his expensive wristwatch and purse, containing Rs92000 and his passport as well. A police officer, requesting anonymity, said the investigators will also look into the fishy claim made by the cricketer as he gave conflicting statements about the incident. However, the police have registered a case against unidentified robbers on the complaint of Asif and are investigating with no arrest made yet.
