BANNU – Six hundred thirty-eight families comprising over eleven thousand three hundred individuals have been registered as fresh IDPs from North Waziristan Agency.
According to FATA Disaster Management Authority, one hundred eleven families have been registered in Bannu, three hundred ninety-two families in Hangu, seventy families in Lakki Marwat, thirty-eight families consisting three hundred thirty-eight individuals in Kohat and twenty-seven families in Karak district.
With this, the total number of IDPs families has reached to thirty six thousand nine hundred and four and the total number of IDPs individuals is now over four hundred and fifty seven thousand.
Meanwhile, The Assistant Commissioner Bannu has said that the process of distribution of financial assistance and dry ration among the IDPs is in process. He said that thousands of IDPs are receiving financial assistance and food items.
Pakistan Army is also providing food assistance to the IDPs under special Ramazan Package and will continue till 25th of Ramadan.
According to NADRA, it has so far verified seventeen thousand IDP families.
A spokesman for the PDMA Camp Office Bannu says FDMA authorities have provided cash assistance to 3434 IDP families in various camps.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the PDMA was held in Bannu with Secretary Relief Rehabilitation and Settlement Department, regarding the Monsoon Contingency Plan 2014.
