Truck-van collision devours seven lives

SHEIKHUPURA

Seven passengers including two women were killed while 12 others sustained injuries in a road mishap that took place near Khala Khatai here on Friday.
According to details, the accident occurred when a rashly-driven passenger van on the way to Narang Mandi, collided with a truck, coming from the opposite direction. The truck went out of control after its front tyre burst due to which it rammed into the van.
As a result seven persons including Ghulam Rasul and his wife Shamim, Tahir Ali, Hameeda Bibi, Imdad Shah, a teenager Ehtisham while 17 others sustained multiple injuries. Four of the injured who in critical condition were shifted to a Lahore hospital while the rest were taken to THQ Hospital Muridke. Meanwhile, an injured passenger while talking to the journalists said that mostly drivers had no licence and they were simply playing with the precious lives of passengers. After the incident large number of locals gathered on the spot and helped in the rescue operation and shifting of the dead bodies and injured to nearby hospitals. The Ferozewala Police are looking into the mater.
KILN WORKER KILLED: In a clash between two groups of brick-kiln labourers, a worker died and three other sustained injuries. Labourers working at a brick-kiln located at Burj Attari had quarrelled with each other over a petty issue. Later one of them Tariq started indiscriminate fire on his colleagues as a result Azhar Iqbal was killed while Ashraf and Asad suffered bullet injuries.They were removed to hospital. The Factory Area Police started investigation.
