ISLAMABAD - Taking serious notice of complaints against Post Office staff regarding distribution of money among the deserving families, Federal Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme Farzana Raja Thursday called DG Post Office along with high officials of Post Office and directed them to take serious action against those staff members of the Post Office who are accused of negligence and irregularity. Farzana Raja called Director General Post Office and other officials of the department in the Secretariat of Benazir Income Support Programme and instructed them to take severe action against the defaulters, she said that the disbursement process of the money among deserving families should be made transparent throughout the country. To ensure transparency, she also asked the DG Post Office to appoint inspection teams so that only the real deserving families could benefit from Benazir Income Support Programme. It is worth-mentioning here that these inspection teams would comprise representatives of the Post Office and Benazir Income Support Programme. These teams would go for random check to ensure whether the money is being disbursed among the deserving families fairly or not. Farzana Raja said that no irregularity would be tolerated in this regard and those found guilty of any irregularity would be dealt severely. She further said that official Website of BISP has also been uploaded through which information about Benazir Income Support Programme along with eligibility or ineligibility of the applicants may also be obtained. She also said that the Government of Pakistan is determined to improve living standard of the people and sooner the President and Prime Minister would also announce a package of more facilities. She urged transparency and fair dealing in all the matters with regard to distribution of financial assistance among the poor segments of society. Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP aims at providing financial support to the poor segments of society at their door steps. The programme is realisation of PPP's manifesto that promises economic uplift and financial support to the underprivileged classes of society. Poor and deserving families for the first would get financial assistance through money orders across the four provinces as well as the far-flung areas of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.
