LAHORE - Federal Minister for Sports Pir Aftab Shah Jillani said that the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Sports were satisfied with the performance of the Pakistan Hockey Federation. The officials of the PHF are professionals and are delivering, he added. Jillani visited the National Hockey Stadium to witness the training camp of the Pakistan senior team on Thursday preparing for the Azlan Shah Cup. The IOC member in Pakistan Syed Shahid Ali, Federal Sports Secretary Ashraf Khan, Director General Pakistan Sports Board Ameer Hamza Gillani and Secretary PHF Muhammad Asif Bajwa were also present. Federal Minister met the players and heard their problems and assured them permanent jobs. He said that it was the responsibility of the government to provide jobs to the players to secure the games future. Aftab said: "There is no controversy with the PHF, we are satisfied with the performance of President Qasim Zia, Secretary Muhammad Asif Bajwa and their team." The Federal Minister congratulated Pakistan junior hockey team for winning the four-nation junior tournament in Malaysia and excellent performance in Five Nation Junior Tournament in Egypt. He said that victories in hockey were the good sign to uplift the game in country. We are hoping that senior team will also produce good results in upcoming Azlan Shah Hockey Tournament in April. Government will continue its support towards PHF to promote the game in the country.
