LAHORE – Senior Federal Minister Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi has claimed that prosperity of the farmers is the mission of the PML-Q and he will take all steps to boost the each sector of agriculture.
He made this claim during a meeting with a delegation of All Pakistan Agricultural Industry called on his residence on Monday to apprise Chaudhary Pervaiz, who is also senior PML-Q leader about the problems being faced by the industry.
The delegation led by Seth Iftikhar Ahmed said imposition of 16 per cent sales tax by the federal government on agricultural equipment was adversely affecting more than five lac families. He added closure of agricultural tools producing units would badly affect agriculture sector.
Parvaiz told the delegation that 16 per cent sales tax on tractor manufacturing industry had already been reduced to five per cent. He, however, assured the delegation that he was looking into their problems.
The members of the delegation included Atta Muhammad, Mohammad Sajid, Musawir Saeed, Ameer Hussain Seth, Shahnaz Kalsoom and Nasreen Bokhari, while PML-Q Punjab General Secretary Ch Zaheerud Din was also present.
