This is with reference to a letter published yesterday in your esteemed daily written by Dr Mukhtar Ali. I was pleased to know that Pakistan’s second Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital (SKCH) is being built in Peshawar. It is good news and a breath of fresh air for the people of KPK who at present are dependent on the cancer hospital in Lahore for treatment. They have to travel a long distance and also have to incur expensive living conditions in Lahore. For this purpose many of them could not make it because of financial hurdles, ending in tragedy for many families. Establishing a cancer hospital in Peshawar will surely help in minimising their problems. It’s our moral and social obligation to support this noble cause by any means. I am sure if we do our bit, we can all make a difference together.

AFTAB AHMAD,
