PM gets briefing on economy




ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso was given a briefing on economy at the Prime Minister's Secretariat on Tuesday morning.
The prime minister was briefed about the current economic situation including, balance of trade, budgetary position and the role of remittances in the economy. During the briefing, the premier was apprised of the financial challenges. He directed the Finance Ministry to streamline the banking system to keep the record of remittances sent by Pakistanis living abroad.
Separately, the Ministry of Water and Power gave a presentation on energy situation. The premier was told about the power chain including generation and distribution as well as the steps taken by the ministry to minimise load-shedding in the country.
Taking notice of long power outages in Balochistan, the prime minister asked the Water and Power Secretary and Wapda Chairman to visit Balochistan and take all necessary steps to relieve the people.
He directed Wapda authorities to send correct bills to consumers.
