BAHAWALPUR - The Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf and the Bahawalpur National Awami Party have announced to make an alliance and seat adjustment in the Bahawalpur Division for the forthcoming general elections.

BNAP chief Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi and PTI chief Imran Khan held a joint press conference in Balawalpur and expressed their stances regarding national issues.

Imran said that his party would make seat adjustment with the BNAP. He said that the political parties sabotaging the political system can’t bring reforms in the system. Imran said, “We have trust in the leadership of Nawab Salahuddin and will contest the elections under his guidance. We will make seat adjustment in Bahawalpur Division. We will leave the constituency vacant but will not support or give our party ticket to any corrupt man.”

Expressing his notion, Salahuddin said that Bahawalpur state had handed its resources to Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah when Pakistan came into being. “But after the demise of Quaid i Azam, Pakistan was deprived of a sincere and honest statesman, leaving no hope of salvation for common man. Rulers looted its resources for their vested interest,” said Salahuddin.

He added that there is similarity between the ideologies of the PTI and Bahawalpur National Party that is why he had decided to stand by Imran Khan. He said that the BNAP was working on one point agenda i.e. restoration of Bahawalpur province. “We will make alliance with the party which will support our agenda. PTI supports the restoration so we have made alliance with the PTI.”

BNAP President Farooq-e-Azam Malik said, “We have made it clear to the PML-Q leadership that at first they should clear their position with the PPP and then we will talk about alliance. We are in contact with the Jamaat-e-Islami for electoral alliance as the JI is also supporting the restoration.”
