At least twelve persons including women and children died and several wounded, when a passenger bus overturned on the Indus Highway on Wednesday.

Police said that the mishap occurred on Indus Highway at Hameedwala in Tehsil Jampur of district Rajanpur, when a speeding passenger bus on way from Dera Ghazi Khan to Kot Mittahan trying to avoid a head-on clash with a tractor trolley turned upside down, which resulted in the death of twelve persons including women and children, while several persons out of over 40 on board were wounded.

The bodies and the injured have been shifted to the Jampur Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, where some of the injured are reported to be in critical condition.
