KARACHI - Pakistan Customs on Wednesday foiled a smuggling bid and seized huge quantity of hashish from a bus at RCD Highway here. The Anti-Smuggling Organisation of MCC preventive customs, on a tip off, intercepted a bus (P-0600) and seized at least 477 kilogramme of hashish.
He said the bus had been modified by removing the seats and by giving it a look of cattle carriage. The vehicle was used for transportation of contraband hashish in the garb of goats. The bus was loaded with goats and was coming from Hub side towards Karachi when it was signaled to stop by the customs personnel. The driver accelerated its speed and after a chase of about five minutes, the Customs team succeeded to intercept the same and bring it back to the Mochko checkpoint of the Customs, RCD Highway, Karachi where contraband hashish in the shape of slabs/rods was found. Further investigation is underway.
