KARACHI  - Five students were wounded in an armed clash occurred between the activists of two student organisations at Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.
People’s Student Federation (PSF) and Anjuman Taliba-e-Islam (ATI) collided at the Abdul Haq campus of the FUUAST.
Workers of both the organisations scuffled for the second consecutive day. Both the organisations were collided on Tuesday with the usage of batons and throwing stones at each other. Three students were injured on the first day while five, with bullet wounds, were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi.
The university management tried to resolve the issues but the groups continued fighting. Police rushed to the spot and tried to maintain the law and order situation.
Enraged students ransacked the furniture and threw stones at the administration building. Tension gripped the campus which suspended the curriculum activities at the university. SP City Sheraz Nazir said some 15 miscreants were arrested and police registered an FIR against them. He explained that most of the wounded students were affiliated with PSF. The ATI workers started the second day clash with firing at the workers of PSF.
