Thirty members of bride and bridegroom’s families fell unconscious by taking stale/substandard food served by the owners of a marriage hall situated near Chak Chattha on Gujranwala Road.

According to the family members, Ghulam Sarwar Mangat of Bhoon Kalan had arranged the wedding of his daughter in the marriage hall where they were entertained with lunch. After eating, more than 30 guests including 10 women and 10 children fell unconscious. They were shifted to different private and government hospitals in Hafizabad and nearby towns. Mehmood Sadiq, Sidra, Aasia, Laiba, Qamar were admitted to the DHQ Hospital where doctors provided them with medical treatment.

According to doctors, the incident took place due to taking of stale/substandard food. However, the patients are gradually recovering.

ROBBERY: Burglars have broken in Rana Autos in front of the office of DPO Hafizabad in busiest Jinnah Chowk and decamped with cash, a generator, spare parts, mobil oil etc.

According to owner Rana Muhammad Sadiq, he had locked the shop but the burglars broken in the shop and looted the valuables worth Rs382,000. He regretted that he has submitted a complaint to Saddar police but he had not yet registered a case against the outlaws.

Meanwhile, two armed dacoits set up a picket near Malikala Bridge near Kolo Tarar and deprived Jafar, Arslan and Khalid of cash amount of Rs23,000 at pistol point.
