KARACHI - Police Monday claimed to have arrested the bandits who gunned down a man and wounded another during robbery bid in the limits of district Malir police.

Investigation police conducted a raid in Bhitshah area of interior Sindh and arrested two persons accused of shooting dead a shop owner Abdul Rehman and injuring his friend Ahmed over resistance.

The accused persons carried out the robbery bid at an electric shop located in Steel Town within the remits of Shah Latif police station and resorted to firing when shop keeper offered resistance.

Bandits managed to flee looting Rs 0.15 million and other valuables. Police registered the case and also traced the bandits hiding in Bhitshah area. Malir investigation police raided and arrested both the bandits identified as Sajid and Kashif while recovered weapons and mobile phones from their possession.

Police said that the accused persons have also taken away the mobile phones during robbery which helped police in getting a clue to arrest the culprits.

Police said that some of the culprits of the same group remain in hiding but the police is in their hot pursuit and would arrest them in couple of days. 

15 OUTLAWS ARRESTED

Police claimed to have arrested at least 15 outlaws in various raids and operations carried out in different parts of the city.

Police said that the accused persons arrested included bandits, street criminals, drug paddlers and those possessing illegal arms. Korangi Industrial area police claimed to have arrested two accused persons while recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession. Police said that those arrested included Younas and Salman and were running drug den in the locality and wanted by the police in number of criminal cases.  

Nazimabad police also arrested two accused persons including Irfan aka Lamba and Imran and recovered weapons and narcotics from their possession while Sharifabad police arrested accused person Noman and recovered weapons from his possession.

Sohrab Goth and New Karachi police arrested two accused persons and recovered weapons and snatched motorbikes from their possession. 

Gulberg police arrested an accused Ahsan and recovered weapons from his possession while Bilal Colony police arrested three accused persons including Muhib Ali, Ahsan and Noor Muhammad recovering weapons from their possession.

Police said that the accused persons were wanted by the police in number of street crime cases. Similarly, Taimoriya police arrested two notorious street criminals including Bilal and Faraz while recovered weapons and looted valuables from them.
