Wajid Zia records statement in Avenfield case

The accountability court has resumed the hearing of NAB references against the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family.

Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir is hearing the case.

Nawaz, daughter Maryam and son-in-law MNA Capt (retd) Safdar appeared before the court.

Federal Investigation Agency Additional Director General Wajid Zia has resumed the recording of his statement in the case.

While talking to the media Nawaz Sharif said, “We are not from those who look for umpire’s finger in every matter.”

"We are the people who believe in the power of the vote," he added.

Former prime minister remarked, NAB is a black law made by a dictator with the only purpose to target politicians.

All the laws which were made during the martial law period should be changed, he further added.

Nawaz stated the people of Pakistan too now started to say targeting us should have stopped the masses of the country are mature enough to not let the mistakes of the past happen in future.
