ISLAMABAD   -   The Economic Coordination Committee of the Federal Cabinet on Friday approved Rs1 billion for launching advertisement campaigns to inform and educate people during the third wave of COVID-19.

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet here on Friday. The ECC considered and approved a Technical Supplementary Grant regarding allocation of funds amounting to Rs1 (one) billion for launching advertisement campaigns by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) to inform and educate people particularly during the third wave of COVID-19 for the public good.

Coronavirus cases are increasing very fast during the 3rd wave in the country. Pakistan reported over 4,000 coronavirus cases on Friday as the third wave of COVID-19 intensifies, which are highest in last eight months.
