A rocket struck a wheatfield in Afghanistan Wednesday, killing a man and wounding several children, said authorities, who also reported that troops killed four militants in a separate incident. It was not immediately clear who fired the rocket that landed in a field in the northeastern town of Asadabad, Kunar province police chief General Abdul Jalal Jalal told a foreign news agency. "One person was killed and eight others, mostly children, were wounded," he said. Other rocket attacks on the town, which is close to the border with Pakistan, have been blamed on insurgents and were apparently aimed at an international military base in the area.
