Govt to summon National Security Conference

The government has decided to summon a National Security Conference to be attended by the Chief Ministers, Interior Ministers of the four provinces and other high-ups of the related departments, report said. The Conference would be briefed by the officials of law enforcement agencies and secret services so that it may chalk out a comprehensive security policy for the country in view of recent raise in terrorism incidents, sources added. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting held here Wednesday with President Asif Ali Zardari in chair. Briefing the newsmen after the meeting Federal Minister for Information and Broadcast Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the meeting also decided to constitute a National Security Committee that would review the police and jail reforms.
