KARACHI (APP) - A mixed trend prevailed at Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) Tuesday as KSE-100 index gained 3.32 points to close at 7176.89. The turnover volume fell to 127.845m shares as prices of 148 scrips recorded gains while 162 sustained losses and 10 remained unchanged. A dealer at a leading brokerage house said that investors have adopted a cautious approach and were avoiding big deals. The market surged on buying spree, but fell down on profit taking half an hour before the close. The market capitalization was slightly improved by about Rs 0.63b to Rs 2.127 trillion. Jahangir Siddiqui Co was the volume leader with a turnover of 17.34 million shares followed by Arif Habib Sec 10.835 million shares, Lucky Cement 8.316 million shares, POL 6.539 million shares and D G Khan Cement 5.602 million shares. MCB Bank close at 162.46, POL 158.87, Jahangir Siddiqui Co 25.68, D G Khan Cement 26.23, Adamjee Insurance 90.51, OGDC 76.53, Arif Habib 29.76 and Lucky Cement 57.27. Bata Pak recorded the highest gain of Rs 28 to close at 606 followed by Rafhan Maize which moved up by Rs 20 to 1340 while Lakson Tobacco dipped by Rs 9.65 to 188.35 and Sanofi-Aventis went down by Rs 7 to 133.1. Meanwhile, Lahore Stock Market witnessed mixed trend on Tuesday as LSE-25 index gained 3.35 points to close at 2138.07 points as compared to 2134.72 points on Monday. Total turn over, however, reflected the declining trend as it remained 13.202 million shares on Tuesday as against 15.802 million shares on Monday. Of 114 active scrips traded on the day, 22 moved up, 44 gone down while price of shares of 48 companies remained unchanged. PSO was major gainer of the day as value of its share witnessed an increase of Rs 5.30 in its share price. MCB Bank was top loser of the day as its share witnessed Rs 4.01 loss in its value. Arif Habib Securities Ltd emerged as volume leader of the day with 2.183m shares followed by D.G. Khan Cement with 1.535m shares and Adamjee Insurance Co Ltd with 0.908m shares. Meanwhile, share prices at the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) witnessed bullish trend here on Tuesday where the ISE-10 index closed at 1673.85 points. A total of 1,019,058 shares were traded in the market, which were up by 141,494 shares when compared with previous days trading of 1,160,552 shares. Out of 115, share prices of 49 companies registered increase whereas share prices of 66 companies registered decrease. Prices of Pakistan Oilfields increased by Rs.5.16 per share while that of Unilever Pakistan decreased by Rs.9.02 per share. Attock Refinery, MCB Bank and DG Khan Cement remained the top trading companies in Tuesdays trading with 121,100, 113,100 and 106,200 shares respectively.
