ISLAMABAD (APP) - A 22-member delegation from Peoples Republic of China, headed by Chinese envoy to Pakistan, Luo Zhaohui, called on Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik here on Tuesday. The meeting discussed the security of around 5,000 Chinese nationals working for completion of various projects in Pakistan. Federal Secretary for Interior, Syed Kamal Shah and other officials were also present. He told the delegation that Pakistan gives special importance to its relations with China. He said the friendly ties between both the nations are time-tested. The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the Pakistans government vis-a-vis the security of the Chinese nationals, saying that all necessary measures would be taken in this regard. He directed the officials to make all necessary arrangements to ensure the security of the Chinese working inside Pakistan and said no leniency would be tolerated in this regard. Luo Zhaohui, on the occasion, said China gives great importance to its relations with Pakistan and the mutual ties with Pakistan would further be strengthened. He also expressed his gratitude to the minister for taking measures for the security of the Chinese nationals. Meanwhile, the ambassador of United Arab Emirates Ali Saif Sultan Al-Awani also called on Rehman Malik and discussed the matters of mutual interest.
