LAHORE - Lahore High Court Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif has taken suo moto notice of firing incident in district and sessions courts premises on Wednesday, which claimed lives of two lawyers and injured others. The chief justice summoned SSP (Operations) to appear on Thursday (today) along with complete record and security chart made for the premises of sessions court. The CJ observed, The number of the assailants, the recovery of hand grenades and magazines from the court premises suggests that there is dearth of security. The chief justice also directed the advocate general Punjab to appear before court and assist in the matter. Panic grips city after murder of lawyer Traffic in the City remained jam on The Mall and in its suburbs after the firing incident took place in Sessions Court causing three deaths including two lawyers and attacker on Wednesday. An eye witness said that panic gripped the area after firing incident and the people rushed to the safer places due to which traffic came to a halt on The Mall and in its adjacent areas like Punjab Civil Secretariat, GPO Chowk, Regal Chowk, Punjab Assembly, Hameed Nizami Road and Shareey-e-Fatima Jinnah Road. It was closing time of schools and people gathered outside the different schools to pick their kids remained stuck in the traffic during scorching heat.
