LAHORE - On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the medical teams of doctors of the Punjab Health Department have reached Gilgit to provide medical aid to the affectees of Ata Abad Lake. Headed by Additional Director Health (HQ) Dr Mubashar Malik the team of doctors called on Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Babar Yaqub Fateh Muhammad. During the meeting with doctors, the Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan, lauded the solid efforts of Punjab CM for promoting national integrity and spirit for public-service and said that by sending the doctors and medicines of Rs 20 lakh, Shahbaz Sharif has set an unprecedented example. During the meeting plan was chalked out to provide medical cover for the affectees and for this purpose, four teams were constituted. One team of doctors would establish medical camps on the upper area of Ata Abad Lake while second team will provide treatment facilities in the lower area. Seminar at UHS Former member Planning Commission Government of Pakistan Prof Dr Kausar Abdullah Malik delivered a lecture on Health Research - Fund Raising for Projects here at University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Wednesday. He discussed the subject in detail by giving specific examples and introducing lot of national and international agencies dealing with the funding of medical research. After the lecture there was very a lively and useful interactive session between the audience and the speaker. He was addressing over 150 postgraduate students doing MPhil and PhD in basic medical sciences at UHS. Vice Chancellor UHS Prof Malik H Mubbashar and senior faculty members were also present.
