ISLAMABAD A bizarre situation was observed in the meeting of National Assembly Standing Committee on Commerce when some members started levelling allegations on each others and PML-Q legislature Kashmala Tariq alleged that the committee as a biased body. The committee meeting was presided over by its Chairman Khurram Dastegeer. One of the agenda items of the meeting was to approve the Institute of Fashion Design Bill. Kashmala Tariq was of the view that the said bill should be thoroughly debated clause by clause instead of skipping method. She raised the issue of appointment of Principal of School of Fashion Designing, which according to her, was about selection for fourth term against the set criterion, which said that no one could be selected for more than two times. During the meeting Kashmala made criticism over the committee objectivity. Upon this all members of the committee became rigid and they exchanged harsh words with her. She also alleged that Hamid Yar Haraj, committee member while ignoring the merit had managed to get a post of Commercial AttachT in Japan for his brother-in-law. She further alleged that Hamid Yars relative was not even having graduation degree. The PML-Q (Likeminded) MNA alleged Shireen Arshad of PML-N for making foreign trips at the cost of trade funds. On this, Shireen broke into tears. Subsequently, all committee members condemned the allegations. On this Kashmla walked out from the meeting. Later, committee decided to write a letter to the National Assembly Secretariat seeking cancellation of Kashmalas membership.
