QUETTA As many as 12 more people have registered themselves as witnesses in the tribunal investigating the killing of five foreigners in Kharotabad area of Quetta. A tribunal comprising Justice Muhammad Hashim Kakar of the Balochistan High Court was formed on the directives of Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani to probe into the incident following doubts raised by local people and media that all five foreign nationals were killed in a fake encounter. On Thursday, more people including leader of Khezai Action Committee Mufti Abdul Wahid registered their names for providing information to the tribunal about the incident. They produced footages and two articles about the incident before the court. Two people including Jamaat-i-Islami Balochistan local leader Amanullah Shahdezai and Jamal Tarkai, a photo journalist, registered their names as private witnesses. So far 14 people, mostly residents of the area, have registered themselves as witnesses in the tribunal. The tribunal will start investigation from Monday. Five Chechens, including three women were killed on May 17 by police and personnel of the Frontier Corps (FC) in Kharotabad area in the outskirts of Quetta alleging them suicide bombers wearing suicide vests.
