Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that some of the misunderstanding between US and Pakistan could be over with the visit of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton but the mistrust of people of Pakistan about the United States cannot be removed. Talking to media at the Parliament House here in Islamabad on Friday, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the secret talks between ISI and CIA or between Zardari and American leaders would not resolve the problems. "The game of hide and seek being played by US with Pakistan must come to an end now" Nisar in a categorical statement demanded. Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the opposition has reservations over the 12 names of former high court judges sent by the Prime Minister for formation of election commission as some took oath under PCO while some other do not have good reputation. He said he would respond to the letter of the Prime Minister on 31st May. He said they do not want ay Judge to become member of the Election Commission who took oath under the PCO or whose reputation was not good among the people. He said the consultative meeting of the opposition parties on Monday would consider important issues including non implementation of the Parliamentary Resolution for the formation of a Commission to investigate into Abbottabad raid and formation of an independent election commission. He said he was in touch with Jamaat Islami, PPP(Sherpao) JUI(F) and nationalist parties in this connection. He said they want concensus decision at the Parliamentary Committee formed for the formation of an independent election commission. He said they want an election commission which organizes free and transparent elections so that no one could raise an accusing finger. He said they also have serious reservations over the incumbent Chief Election Commissioner Justice R Hamid Ali Miza. He hoped that the election commission would be formed before the expiry of the deadline given by the Supreme Court. He said the opposition is not a stumbling block for an independent accountability institution but in the way of the Government. He said they want an independent accountability institution but the government is the main hurdle in its formation.
