ISLAMABAD - Free and fair elections in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) will have direct impact on the Kashmir issue. PPP-AJK will win the elections to be held on June 26, 2011 with simple majority, said Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Barrister Sultan Mehmood, central leader of PPPAJK on Thursday. While addressing a press conference here in Islamabad arranged in honour of Taqdees Gillani, Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, Mufti Younis and Shoukat Mughal who joined PPP-AJK. Sultan welcomed the newly joined leaders. He said that as per the direction of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari PPPAJK leadership would ensure the transparent, free and fair elections in AJK. When questioned by this scribe, Sultan replied that he hasnt recommended blue-eyed candidates for tickets to the Parliamentary Board. He dispelled rumours that there are two groups in PPP-AJK. Wattoo welcomed the newly joined leaders and assured them equal respect. He claimed that Pakistan Muslim League (N) is responsible for contravention of Muslim Conference (MC) in AJK, PPPAJK will win the elections with absolute majority without having any seat adjustment with any party including MC. On the occasion, Taqdees Gilani said that she was former advisor to Prime Minister AJK Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan. The policies of sitting PM have compelled her to leave the MC and join the PPP-AJK. Muslim Conference (MC) leader from Khari Sharif Mirpur, Shoukat Mughal, assured that they would make PPP-AJK successful in the constituency of Barrister Sultan. Mufti Younis, who is head of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam AJK, also joined PPP-AJK and showed confidence in the leadership of Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry.
