LAHORE - As many as 577 veterinary officers completed capacity-building training to uplift the inner capability and polish their innovative skills to contribute to the livestock services across the province.

This was stated by Punjab Livestock and Dairy and Development (L&DDD) Secretary Hamid Yaqoob Sheikh while addressing a certificate distribution ceremony of one-month long workshop on “capacity-building of livestock dairy development department officers for the establishment of advisory services” here on Saturday. The workshop was organised by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in collaboration with the L&DDD.

Sheikh said that development of the livestock sector was the only way to poverty alleviation in the country. The livestock sector had the potential to grow and we have to exploit it to the maximum for uplift of the people. He urged the participants that they should disseminate the knowledge through SMS or email to others. Sheikh said that university had played pivotal role to conduct such training.

UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha assured that the university would provide all-out technical support and training to uplift the livestock sector and open all available facilities for livestock officers.
