MULTAN - PML-N Balochistan Leader Abdul Rauf Khan Sasoli has said that the country is faced with civil war-like situation and a government of national consensus is needed to save Pakistan.

Talking to The Nation/Nawa-e-Waqt here on Saturday, he added that despite highly alarming situation, nobody played any role to mitigate hatred or create national consensus. “The country needs a national government which must hold fresh polls forthwith,” he demanded. He said that entire country was in grip of lawlessness and government’s writ was seen nowhere. “The rulers should accept their failure and resign immediately,” he maintained. He alleged that the graph of corruption touch ever-high mark during this democratic regime.

To a query on restoration of Nato supply, he said that it should not be restored. He appreciated govt for adopting a strong stance on supply issue in Chicago Conference and said that it was a good omen for the country.

Answering a question on creation of new provinces, he said that the issue of Seraiki, Hazara or other provinces had an altogether different angle from the demand for disintegration of Sindh. He further explained that the demand for division of Sindh was inappropriate and the country was faced with a vicious international conspiracy.

Referring to Balochistan, he said that the Balochs had pinned hopes on democratic government but the rulers totally failed to come up to the expectations of the masses. He lauded the role of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and said that the things done by him should have been done by the politicians. He hoped that the situation in Balochistan would improve because of steps adopted by the Chief Justice.

He said that Benazir’s son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said in a statement that Musharraf was involved in the killing of his mother. “Now his statement should be made a part of Benazir murder case’s FIR,” he added. He said that the statement of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan unveiled real face of Musharraf and told the nation that the latter was working on American agenda. He said that the law and order situation in Punjab was better than the rest of four provinces.
