ISLAMABAD - The ICT Administration has intensified the ongoing anti-profiteering drive in the capital Territory and Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) Saturday conducted surprise price checking in the area of Bhara Kahu imposing heavy fine on the profiteers amounting to Rs 8430.

The fine was imposing on violators for not displaying the rate list of fruit and vegetables and over charging from the consumers.

He also issued on the spot directions to the shopkeepers to ensure the display of rate list of food items failing which stern action would be taken against the defaulters. Assistant Commissioner (Secretariat) also checked hygienic conditions of restaurants and hotels in the area and imposed on the spot fines on the four hotels for not maintaining the required standard of hygiene and sanitation.

He also took samples of food items and sent them to laboratory for quality check. During the course of checking, he also got closed a sheesha smoking joint in Bhara Kahu.
