LAKKI MARWAT – The residents of Kurrum Par have demanded of the government to allocate special funds for repairing Qabulkhel-Landiwah road.
Talking to this correspondent on Saturday, they said that at least 30-km long road was of much importance as it connected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Punjab province. “Besides the road interlinks hundreds of villages of four union councils with each other besides it enables the area people to have an easy access to urban localities of the district and other parts of the country”, they maintained.
They regretted that the previous as well as present government did not pay any heed towards repairing and maintenance of road.
“Now the condition of road is pathetic as it is full of potholes and ditches”, they told.
, saying that some portions of the road have been badly affected/damaged by floods in previous years. “The shabby and poor state of road is causing numerous problems for the residents of four union councils,” said a former nazim advocate Abdul Qadoos. He said that the bad condition of road had also affected uplift of Kurrum Par Area besides it was causing hindrance in normal flow of traffic.
He told that the potholed road was causing damage to the vehicles as well. Area people said that the government should improve Qabulkhel-Landiwah road by providing special funds for its repair and maintenance.
