KARACHI - M Yousuf who chose to play for Punjab in the NBP ranking snooker found his way into the last eight of the championship after a fighting five frames to four win over  Javed of Punjab in the pre quarter finals here on Saturday at Defence Creek Club.

The former world and Asian champion won 101-0, 26-63, 79-15, 74-31, 34-48, 54-46, 7-85, 28-80, 66-56 to set up a quarter final date with Asajd Iqbal of Punjab.

Yousuf is in nice nick and if he overpowers his known opponent in the quarters he could go two more steps to clinch the coveted title that may give red faces to many officials of the PBSA who had been unfair to the former champion in the past.

Yousuf had always talked about his nice experiences in Lahore as a young man and once he had spoken for settling down in the city.
